NOTE: It is the responsibility
of each LTS collaborator to keep other collaborators informed of paper proposals
and progress. This is the description of how
it should be done.
I.
Draft an abstract
of the proposed scientific work.
II.
Circulate the proposal
among other collaborators, by sending a copy of the abstract to the Project
Coordinator (Sally-Ann Rhea: rhea@ibg.colorado.edu)
for distribution to the LTS collaborative group.
III.
Be willing to listen
to the feedback received from the collaborators, and make appropriate modifications
in the proposal.
Advantages of this
approach: If we can do
this, we can avoid duplication of effort, anticipate points of contact, help
with the preparation of progress reports and application for renewal of funding,
and identify work that needs to be done. We have
at least one example where work proposed by a graduate student at I.B.G.
had already been undertaken by Kim Saudino and Stacey Cherny.
