Joining a Windows 7 computer to the IBG domain
These are instructions for joining a Windows 7 computer to the IBG domain. Joining the domain will allow use of a single password for desktop and network access, and automatically attach to network file shares at login time.
Pre-joining steps
Several steps must be taken prior to joining the domain.
- Download and apply the registry patch
- From the Samba bugzilla at https://bugzilla.samba.org/attachment.cgi?id=4988&action=view or locally from \\linux.colorado.edu\WinSetup\Win7_Samba3DomainMember.reg
- Double click on the downloaded file to apply it, accepting the security warning and proceeding
- Restart the computer
- Open the start menu
- Enter

User Profiles - Double click on
Do not check for user ownership of Roaming Profile Folders - Check
Enabled - Select
