====== Joining a Windows 7 computer to the IBG domain ======
These are instructions for joining a Windows 7 computer to the IBG domain.  Joining the domain will allow use of a single password for desktop and network access, and automatically attach to network file shares at login time.

  - Download and apply the registry patch
    - From the Samba bugzilla at [[https://bugzilla.samba.org/attachment.cgi?id=4988&action=view]] or locally from [[\\linux.colorado.edu\WinSetup\Win7_Samba3DomainMember.reg]]
    - Double click on the downloaded file to apply it, accepting the security warning and proceeding
  - Restart the computer
  - Open the start menu
  - Enter ''gpedit.msc'' into the //Search programs and files// box
    - Select ''Administrative Templates''
    - Select ''System''
    - Select ''User Profiles''
    - Double click on ''Do not check for user ownership of Roaming Profile Folders''
    - Check ''Enabled''
    - Select ''OK''
    - Close the ''Local Group Policy Editor''
  - Right click ''Computer''->''Properties''
  - Select ''Advanced System Settings''
  - Select ''Computer Name''
  - Select ''Change''
  - Select ''Member of... Domain''
  - Enter ''IBG''
  - Select ''OK''
  - Enter ''User name'' and ''Password'' of the domain administrator
  - On ''Welcome to the IBG Domain'' box, select ''OK''
  - The DNS error is expected, select ''OK'' 
  - Restart
  - At the login screen select ''Switch User''
  - Select the ''Other User'' icon
  - Enter ''User name'' and ''Password'' of domain user
